Here's an appendix to the September, 2008 issue of
musing on the muse
-- the strange and compelling Russian Hip-Hop duo I found on Last.FM.

I appreciate the gloomy slavic lyricism they manage to infuse the number with. Not what I usually think of when I think of Hip-Hop. More like what I think of when I think of Russian music. Since I don't know Russian and cannot read Cyrillic, I have no idea who these guys are or what they're saying. I hope their message is something I'd approve of. Ah, yes, the old Ezra Pound and T.S. Eliot conundrum.  Can anti-Semites create "good" art? (not that  all young male short-haired slavic guys are anti-Semitic...)

If any one who finds this knows enough Russian to fill us in, please send word! (hit the "contact" link to your left.)  Meanwhile, let's forget about words for a while and groove with the boychiks.

tech note: I can't find a way top link directly to the video or their other tracks on Last.FM because my software won't deal with the Cyrillic characters that the link contains, but embedding works since that code is all Roman.
